Recently got from a fellow Doctor Who fan, Space Precinct created by Gerry Anderson. It originally aired between October 3 1994 and July 24 1995 for 24 episodes and it is a mix of science fiction and police procedural series.

It starred Ted Shackelford (Gary Ewing in Knot's Landing) as Lt Patrick Brogan. It directors included James Bond director John Glen.

It takes place later this century in 2040 and with a police force in space the concept of the show is similar to that of Chris Boucher's Star Cops. One difference between the two is that Space Precinct featured aliens while Star Cops does not.

The origins of Space Precinct occurred almost a decade earlier in 1986 with the pilot for Space Police starring Anderson veteran Shane Rimmer as Brogan. Space Police failed to sell at the time and the pilot was never aired.
