Week 4: Legend of the Seeker

This week at SpockSoc, we’re starting off the second season of Legend of the Seeker, based on the Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind – this season is apparently based on the second and third books in the series. Don’t worry if you missed the first season – I’ll give a brief character recap before we start.

Starting from this week, we’re moving back to Rex Vowels to Red Center G001, the Electrical Engineering lecture theatre – it’s the same place we were last session. Check out the map on our website if you’re uncertain. I don’t have official confirmation of this at the moment, but if it turns out we’ll be somewhere else, I’ll stick up a sign at Rex Vowels Red Center G001. Starting at 5pm Friday as usual.

On a different note, since both myself and Vice President James are going to Japan for a holiday in a week and a half (wai! wai!) I’m making some changes to the schedule – essentially we’re swapping weeks five, six and seven with weeks nine, ten and eleven. Just a little heads-up to let you know – we’ll still be sending these announce e-mails each week like normal.

Week 9: Legend of the Seeker

Legend of the SeekerThis week at SpockSoc, we’ll be continuing showing Legend of the Seeker. It’s based on the Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind. The series follows the epic journey of a young woods guide named Richard Cypher (played by Craig Horner), a mysterious woman named Kahlan Amnell (Bridget Regan), and a wizard named Zeddicus Zu’l Zorander (Bruce Spence) to stop Darken Rahl (Craig Parker) from unleashing an ancient and terrifying power.

In our first screening last session, we showed roughly the first third of the season, and we’ll probably manage another third at this screening. We’ll start at 5pm in Golstein G06, as ever. Pizza run during the night.

Also, our AGM is coming up in two weeks, in week eleven. Be there, or be… without a club. Cause, you know, we can’t get reafilliated if people don’t show up to the AGM. And that’d be a Bad Thing. Yup. So… please? All exec positions are open for the taking, but we’ll only allow nominations of people who are present at the meeting. Also, president, treasurer and secretary must be UNSW students, and should also be Arc members.

Week 6: Legend of the Seeker

Legend of the SeekerBack to uni, sigh. On the plus side, by this Friday, week six will be over, meaning we’re halfway through the session, yay!

This week at SpockSoc we’re showing a new series named Legend of the Seeker. It’s a fantasy series (been a while since we watched any of those) based on Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth novels. I haven’t actually watched any of it yet, but it’s apparently recieved some rave reviews in America.

We’re in Goldstein G06, starting at 5pm. Entry is free for members, and pizza is $5 per half, with a free can of soft drink.

Hope to see you there.
