Semester 2, Week 10 – Legion Season 1 Part 1 and AGM/Trivia Night

Hi everyone,

The AGM and Trivia Night is this week! Among other things!
Wednesday
On Wednesday we’ll be screening Legion, Fox’s psychedelic first attempt at bringing the X-Men franchise to the small screen.
We’ll be screening the first four episodes of season one, starting around 5pm in Civil Engineering Room 109. Facebook event is here.
Friday
As you’ve probably heard, this Friday is our annual AGM and Trivia Night! We’d love to see as much of our membership as possible at this event, whether you’ve come to previous events this year or not.
Our agenda for the AGM is as follows:

1. Apologies

2. Examination of the minutes from the last meeting

3. Ben Koschnick to give the President’s report

4. Kathrin Bain to give the Treasurer’s report

5. Election of executive positions

5.1 Position of President
5.2 Position of Treasurer
5.3 Position of Secretary
5.4 Position of Arc Delegate
6. Other business

As I’ve said ad nauseum, the AGM is important for two reasons. One, it allows us to re-affiliate with Arc and keep functioning as a club; and two, it gives the exec, and general membership a chance to look back at this year’s activities and discuss the direction of the club for the next year. We’ll also be electing a new exec, so if you’re a current UNSW student and Arc member (and will continue to be next year) and would like to take a more active role in the running of the club, consider standing for a position!

Immediately following our AGM we’ll be running our annual trivia night. Come test your prowess against the best Spocksoc has to offer – every player wins a prize!
The AGM starts at 5pm sharp in Goldstein Room G09. Trivia will start once we finish up with the AGM. Facebook event is here.
What else is on?
We’re mixing it up a little this evening and seeing The Lego Ninjago Movie – event details are here.
More movie outings, screenings and other events can be found on our facebook page.
Our next book club meeting is less than a week away! There’s still time to grab a copy of In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan before the meeting next Wednesday – more information here.
We look forward to seeing you this week,
Jenn
